DOCUMENTING THE INTERRED

In early 2016, three women voluntarily took on the monumental task of documenting known burials at Clackamas Pioneer Cemetery (CPC). Their end result was to make sure each and every veteran had a headstone.  Indeed, they found veterans lacking markers.  Next, they located next of kin and obtained permission and appropriate signatures to order headstones from the Veterans Administration. After the new headstones were received, the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War stepped in and installed each one in the manner used "back in the day."  A lovely  ceremony took place to dedicate each new marker.

Documents obtained and/or used by the volunteers are:
Headstones
Obituaries
Death Certificates
CPC Burial Book
CPC Record Books 1, 2, 3, or 4
Holman Funeral Home Records
Clackamas County Historical Society
Find A Grave
Scout list headstone inventory of 2014
MH Trackers
In addition, the volunteers found people listed on Find A Grave that were either originally buried at CPC, disinterred, and moved to another location or just not buried at CPC.  Additional information about these deceased is forthcoming.

If you know of a burial not listed here or have other information to share please contact the webmaster.  I strive to provide accurate information based upon documentation. Additional information about each interment including photographs and documents can be located at:
